Hill Girls School Bryn Mawr 10-2

A full squad of twenty girls took the ice yesterday against the Bryn Mawr School. Hill kept the pressure on, maintaining control of the puck for the majority of the first period. Alex Peters put Hill on the board nine minutes into the game with an assist from Alex Galasso. Galasso scored just 19 seconds later with an an assist by Kelsey Guldin, bringing the score to 2-0. Peters finished the scoring for the period with only 28 seconds to play. Third former Sam Rodden earned an assist.

The second period brought more offensive success. A minute into the period, Galasso lit the lamp. Peters earned an assist. Shortly thereafter, senior captain Eliza Bellis netted her first of the game. Co-captain Kelsey Guldin and Marie Nelson earned assists for their efforts. Galasso finished up the scoring for the period. Jackie Massare, a force at both ends of the ice, earned the assist.

Bryn Mawr answered back in the third stanza, scoring first in the period. Goalie Kerri Haley saved the first shots but Bryn Mawr kept digging and found an opening to put themselves on the board. Hill's Peters answered back, scoring two goals back to back just thirty seconds apart. Galasso assisted on the first. It was then Galasso's turn to scored back to back goals, the second of which was again assisted by Massare and newcomer Kailin Vollmuth, earning her first career points. Bryn Mawr was able to score one more goal before the end of the game.

Defensively, Hill was very strong at the blue line. Fifth former Jacky Braca led the defense, playing hard at both ends of the ice. She shut down numerous players in the neutral zone and generated offensive chances for her teammates. Senior Emily Bohm and junior Jennifer Kang also put in a great effort. Allie Griswold and newcomer Antonia Weiller were strong defensively as well.

A number of players saw their first action, including Nora Wagman, Liz Veys and Ji Young Park.

In goal, Kerri Haley started things off, playing two and a half periods. Though her saves were not numerous, she was forced to stop rebounds and wide open shots. Sam Steller was between the pipes for the majority of the third period. Though it was only her second time seeing game action, she made a number of saves, giving up just one goal.

The Lady Blues put forth a great effort. They return to the ice on Saturday, taking on league opponent Princeton High School.
