Senior Recognition Day

Senior Recognition Day 2009

Honoring the Hill School Varsity Ice Hockey Seniors

On-ice introductions with parents and presentations of Tuck Pucks to Senior players along with a rose for the Mom’s. The Tuck Puck Award was given to all Senior players for their leadership and dedication to the team.

Ralph Bowen, father of Senior Gordon Bowen, played his compelling version of the National Anthem on his saxophone before the start of the game against Shady Side Academy.

Hill finished with 13W-12L-4T. Exciting play throughout the season. They beat their arch rivals Lawrenceville twice. Put on a great show against the “Nationals”-bound Philadelphia Junior Flyers losing 4-2(EN) in what proved to be one of the most exciting games of the season. They played head-to-head and gave them a run for their money. The Blues continued to battle hard against their league opponents to the end and fell short at The Empire Cup with the loss to Millbrook Academy 4-3. Hill sustained a few injuries this year of a few key players which added to their loss .

All-in-all, the guys had a great time and great season together…tremendous group of talented kids who all got a long and played as a team under the great coaching staff of Mulhern, Cerenzia and Bala. With the loss of 11 Senior players and our dear Manager Max, the team will have “big skates” to fill next season…the returning players have the caliber to win but will need the help of some good replacements of the non-returning Seniors.
